Original Works

From a place of death was waiting,
A presence not of God's creating,
For here it came without abating,
Stopping then, at my front door.

This I knew not, for I was sleeping,
I did not see it softly creeping,
I would have woke from my rest leaping,
Had I known, what was in store.

Outside the sun was quickly sinking,
The moon was full, the stars were winking,
At the shape that swiftly slinking,
Came upon me, in the night.

When I heard the sound of rapping,
With a start I rose from napping,
Behind the door rapidly tapping,
Gave my soul, a dreadful fright.

I tried to hide that I was crying,
Of my fear there was no denying,
While through windows I tried spying,
But I saw, nothing at all.

Turning around I heard some scratching,
And the soft sound of unlatching,
The source of which I knew was matching,
A creaking door, down the hall.

But like a whisper it was fleeting,
I felt the evil start retreating,
My heart reduced its frantic beating,
I could hear, no sound at all.

All this is true, what I've been telling,
And only now are my fears quelling,
Still, from my sleep I wake up yelling,
Drenched in sweat, and cold with fear.

There's one last thing you should be knowing,
That when you feel the evil growing,
You must be up and quickly going,
Far from the shadows, living here.

'Twas the Night Before a Star Wars Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas,
when all through the void,
not a creature was stirring,
not even a droid.

The ships were lined up
in the hanger with care.
In hopes that St. Skywalker
soon would be there.

The jedi were nestled,
all snug in their beds.
While visions of lightsabers,
danced in their heads.

When out on Naboo,
there arose such a clatter.
I sprang from my pod,
to see what was the matter.

When what to my wondering
eyes should appear,
but another deathstar,
bringing horror and fear.

In came little old Yoda,
so lively and wise.
I knew in a moment,
he'd see through the lies.

"Fear leads to anger,
and anger to hate.
Hate is the darkside,
and this is your fate.

Control your emotions,
or win the darkside will.
Now use the force! Use the force!
But not to kill."

And then in a twinkling,
I pulled out my saber.
When right in my doorway,
was standing Darth Vader.

As I got myself ready,
and was turning around,
into my defenses Vader
came with a bound.

He had a black suit,
and a round little belly.
That shook when he fought,
like a bowl full of jelly.

He was robotic and stiff,
More machine than man.
And I laughed as I fought him,
Defeat him I can.

He spoke not a word,
but went straight to his work.
And lightsabres clashed,
then stopped with a jerk.

When Yoda came in,
and parted us fast,
we knew that the war,
was over at last.

We sprang to our ships,
made the jump to light speed.
And away we all flew,
to the palace of Theed.

I heard Yoda exclaim,
as he flew out of sight:
"Merry Christmas to all,
and to all a good night!"

Painted Dreams

Amidst the dark forever night,
Upon the endless crimson shore,
There lies a figure, lost in time,
A Dreamer of the world before.

Through the beauty of burning stars,
He slowly, gently, sculpts the sky;
Imagining sweet Perfection
From the forge within his eye.

Using incandescent twilight
He forms her spirit, mind, and frame.
And from the sea, he gives her life,
From breaking waves, creates her name.

As she wakens, from blissful sleep,
He gazes, silent, from the shore.
And as her eyes ripple open
The raven waves scream out and roar,

For lo! her eyes, an endless blue,
Shatter and reject the night.
Her golden hair becomes the sun
And casts a most redeeming light.

She drifts among the sterling stars
And dances through the ebon sea,
Releasing all from shadow’s grip
Making life and love, forever free!

And from the depths, the dreamer stares
Upon this soul of infant day.
A distant smile crosses his lips,
As he awakes, and fades away.

Broken Promises

You say
I promise to never break your heart
but in the end my love
you'll only tear me apart

You say
I promise to love you forever
but in the end my love
we won't be together
These broken promises
you gave them to me
all these broken promises
I was too late to see

You say
I promise to be here for you
but in the end my love
it was you who couldn't be true
Broken Promises
I've heard them all before
and when the end is near
I won't have to hear them anymore

There is this place...

Take me to a place
where the sidewalks and streets
have red leaves that dance
and twirl around your feet

Take me to a place
where the rain tastes like honey
the air smells sweet as ever
and nothing but love surrounds me

Take me to a place
where the snow twinkles like stars
and every cloud has its own design
with skittles that fall from clouds into jars

Take me to a place
where oranges and reds light up the sky
and the countless stars at night
remain eternally in your eyes

Please take me back to that place
where my heart is happy n' free
everything becomes perfect
when it's only you...and...me

The Paradoxical Commandments

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have and it may just never be enough;
Give the world the best you have anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it's all between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it's queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there's some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
